Work experience:
Since before I finished highschool I worked in many places. Here they are, from the most recent down:
- CA: a Software support team: as Infrastructure Architect on Hitachi ID Suite,
- CA: a manual labor all the way to upper management in 5 years for a food chain warehouse: as swamper, then foreman, receiver, inventory control clerk, audit clerk, inventory control supervisor, operations supervisor,
- CA: a Hardware support team: as Event Manager/Case Specialist on HP LaserJet printers,
- CA: Monicsoft: a small business under which I was going to do web design and assorted programming (on hold for now, like most of my life),
- CA: a Descriptive Linguistics team: as Research Assistant, webdesigner, database designer, archivist,
- CA: a Visual Communications Lab: as Research Assistant,
- CA: a KnowledgeEngineering firm: as Project Leader,
- BG: an international Psycholinguistic Lab: as Research Assistant,
- US/BG: a commercial WebDesign firm: as Team Coordinator,
- GR: one season attempting to adjust a database and UI to a markedly different archaeo methodology: as Database and UX designer (also led to my son being born),
- BG/US: an Archaeology Center: as Multimedia Team Leader and Tutor (Stand-alone MM, DesktopPublishing and Web)
- RO: my own short-lived firm: as Software/Hardware Integration Consultant,

- But the toughest and most rewarding hat to wear is that of a Dad.
Carleton University (CU), Ottawa, Canada, houses the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (IIS). My studies, in the Cognitive Science PhD Program have been interrupted in 2004 due to financial and personal problems.
(proposed) Thesis topic: Active and Intelligent interfaces. There are a handful of hard problems in Cognitive Science that I keep poking at, for my own curiosity. And CHI is an excellent approach for gathering data on Knowledge Engineering and Situated Agents. And if the results spill into practical applications, so much the better.
Publications: I never found the time to bring papers to formal publication standards, but I did write quite a bit of course papers, scattered commentary (some of which I may polish some day into publishable papers), and even some older poems and fiction.
Personal: I'm a Romanian (ex-)married to a Bulgarian and our kid is hearing only English (our common language). I like programming and sci-fi/fantasy and cycling and role-playing/strategy gaming and more
